Behold, Now Is The Day Of Salvation message

Behold, Now Is The Day Of Salvation!
The Lord is trying to win boys and girls, moms and dads, every day. As often as we hear the Gospel preached the Lord is trying to win lost sinners to receive the Lord Jesus to save them from their sin. The Lord gives us a very important warning, in the Bible. That we must listen to Him calling us to receive Jesus while we can. Most of us will hear the Gospel preached many times, and we will know that we are hearing the truth. We are sinners who can only be saved from our sin by receiving Jesus to save us. The Lord warns us though that when we hear the Gospel preached and we know in our hearts that we need to receive Jesus. We must not leave it off for some other time, because the Lord warns us, “Behold, now is the day of salvation!” He does not promise that we will get another opportunity!
DO NOT!
The Lord uses the example of the Israelites who were brought out of Egypt where they were slaves. He brought them to Canaan to get a land of their own to live in. The Lord was going to help them take the land away from the wicked people that were in Canaan. The Lord used 10 miracles to free them from Egypt. Then dried a path through the Red sea to finally free them from the Egyptian army. Then the Lord helped them defeat two Amorite kings and their armies on the way to Canaan. The Lord proved how much He loved them, and how powerful He was time and time again. But when it came time to go into Canaan and take the land away from the people of Canaan. They got scare because of the high walls and the big soldiers in Canaan. Even though the Lord had proved that He could take care of them no matter what happened!
Because of their mistrust of the Lord after all that He had done, the Lord rejected them and made them wander around in the desert for 40 years until all the adults were dead and their children grew up. How sad! They did not trust the Lord after all He had done! Instead of trust Him they hardened their hearts against Him. How wicked!
In today’s verse from the Bible we are warned not to be like the untrusting Israelites. Even today there are lots of boys and girls who will not trust God. They have learned that they have sin that can only be taken away by receiving the Lord Jesus, and believing that God raised Him from the dead. The Holy Spirit helps us understand the we MUST receive the Lord Jesus, but so many say, “No, not today. I’m enjoying myself as I am.” And those kids get older and their hearts get harder to the Lord telling them to receive Jesus. And some of them after some time don’t believe as they did before. Why? Because their hearts get harder the longer they say no to the Lord.
LISTEN TO GOD!
It is important to know that God, the Holy Spirit, is the One Who is helping us to understand that we are sinners in need of a Saviour. He helps us understand when we are taught that Jesus’ death on the cross was to suffer in our place so that we don’t have to go to hell. So always remember when you are being taught the Bible. The Holy Spirit is there helping the teacher that teaches us the Bible to get us to understand. The Holy Spirit also helps us understand when someone is teaching us wrong things. But we must ask His help and listen really carefully asking the Lord to protect us from wrong teaching. Wrong teaching will get us confused and to believe wrong things.
One of the things that the Lord will be telling our heart is that we must ask Jesus to save us while we can! That is very important to receive Jesus as Saviour right away when we understand!
RECEIVE JESUS TODAY!
The Bible tells us that when the Lord Jesus was on the cross He took our sins on Himself. And God punished Him in our place. “For Christ also hath once suffered for sin, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit.” 1 Peter 3:18.The Bible also tells us that the Lord Jesus rose from the dead on the third day to show that God had accepted His death in our place. And now all that we all need to do, is receive the Lord Jesus to save us from our sins. The Bible says, “But as many as received him to them gave He power to become the sons of God.” John 1:12.
Will you receive Jesus today? The Lord Himself is strongly urging you to receive the Lord Jesus today! Remember He says, “Behold, now is the day of salvation!” There is no promise that you will have the same opportunity to receive Jesus after today. There may be, but for some people today, or a day soon, will be their last day in this world. For others they will eventually harden their hearts to the Lord. Receive the Lord Jesus while the Lord is calling you to do so today!
